Gladstone is actually part of a small twin town Borough of Peapack-Gladstone in the rolling hills of the Somerset Hills area. Easily serviced by train to New York and Interstate 287 and 78 Highways, the quiet New England type village attracts those who want peace, quiet and absolute beauty. The town has low key businesses, including some excellent restaurants. It also boasts being the home of the USEF (United States Equestrian Federation) which represents the USA in all equine olympic events, and well as the excellent private non-sectarian Gill-St. Bernards School, with co-educational grades 1-12.

Houses for sale lean towards the larger homes on bigger lots, although modest older homes are available right in-town as well. Top schools (often ranked in the top 20) are provided by the next town, Bernardsville, part of the Somerset Hills Regional School District, which Far Hills students also attend.  Beautiful Natirar Park is available for recreation, and there are a variety of riding stables in the area. Biking and yearly bike races are common in the scenic area.
